32. Saints travel to Chicago

Pre-game

I have left it so late in this trip to go to my beloved Soldier field. i have actually never been to Soldier Field to see the Bears play before. in 2002 I was living in Chicago and I went to see their opening game against the Vikings, but this was played at Champain, Illinois, when Soldier field was being rebuilt.

Hopefully at this pat of the season both the Saints and the Bears will be close to qualifying for the playoffs and both will be playing their full teams to get a win. The Bears were not quite as a solid as the year before when they got to the Superbowl, last year they did not even qualify for the playoffs. Though with some decent rookie picks and hopefully Rex Grossman can start to be more consistent we should be knocking onthe playoffs door. Both the Vikings and Lions have improved and of course the Packers are still a good team without Brett Favre.

I have always enjoyed the weay the Saints play their football, as I saw them play in my first NFL game back in 1990 in London, for a pre-season game. Though the Bears are my first team and seeing them on aThursday night game will be amazing. Our defense is going to need to step up against Reggie Bush and Drew Brees. Urlacher and a healthy Mike Brown sould squash their attacking threat. And with the most exciting football player on the planet: Devin Hester the Saints will be worried. If they chose not to kick to him, that's ok, we'll just play him as receiver.

I will be seeing the bears at home again in week 16. If there was going to be a team I was going to see twice, well it has to be the Bears!

Adam,
I'm enjoying watching your journey around the NFL. I don't know if people realize how impressive your trip is. I've seen the Bears play in 28 different stadiums.....but it has taken me close to 30 years to do it. Hopefully we will see you at our Tailgate Parties on the 11th & 22nd of December.
Enjoy!

To Brian,
I'm actually going to the Bears twice, one against the Saints and the home game against the Packers
you at either of these games?

I know your schedule is already set, but if it were ME, I'd try to get to Chicago for the oldest rivalry in the NFL -- Bears v Packers on December 22. Here in Chicago we say there are only 3 games a year that count -- the Superbowl and the 2 times we play the Pack.

Yup I lived by Wrigley Ville in the summer of 2002, had a great time, and then visited again in 2004. I'll be in chicago for a vist at the end of July for two weeks also.

I didn't realize you used to live in Chicago! Hopefully the Bears have done a good job re-tooling and figuring out the RB situation. I liked the rookie picks from last year and this year aren't bad either, hopefully they can continue where they left off last season. By December we will know.
