39. Bucs host the Raiders for my last game

Pre-game

Raymond James Stadium and the big ship in the Stadium symbolises what is so great about the sport. I am really happy to be finishing my trip at such an amazing stadium, and the warm weather in Tampa will be a bonus too as a matter of days ago I would have been at a Bears game which I beleive will be pretty damn cold!

The Bucaneers are hosting their pirating rivals the Oakland Raiders. The Raiders have world famous fans, with their steely black and silver colors, they look truly menacing. The Bucs have a pretty decent team to cheer on, and they should be heading itno the playoffs again this year. Though with JaMarcus Russell and new rookie Dareen McFadden  they will not bne a walk over. Even if the Raiders are playing for pride they will want to win the batle of the pirates!

This will be my now 36th game and possibly last game on the trip. If I have enough money left over, (which is reliant on sponsors) then I hope to continue the trip in the playoffs and to the SuperBowl and Pro-Bowl!

The schedule is crowded towards the end and I may not be able to give enough time to each franchise, so by going to the playffs I will have more time to uncover those great fans out there, plus see more football!

Thi is a must win game for the Bucs and I expect a great atmosphere!

Hi Adam,

I'm the pirate guy in red & black that you had your picture made with before the game. Send me a shot when you can.

I've had hundreds of fans take photos with me at Gate C as I play "Phillip McCann, the recycling buccaneer". I'm one of 2 dz. Sierra Club volunteers who have facilitated fans' recycling their beverage containers at every football game at Tampa's stadium for the past 18 years. Dressing up like a pirate helps gets fans' attention to how it easy it is to toss it here into the recycling can instead of there into the garbage. Every game Bucs fans and our guests fill up 3 dz. 96 gal cans.

I always have a blast getting fans to Fill Up My Can with cans & bottles - hence the name Philllip McCann - one's man's trash is another man's treasure!

Sorry about the Bucs' dismal performance, but thanks for coming and helping cheer them on. You were one of 3 parties from the UK, plus one from Denmark, to take their photos with me at the Raiders' game. Hope you lot will all cheer for the Bucs in London next year when they "host" the Patriots. And hope you can find your way back to Tampa for Super Bowl on 2/1 and Gasparilla the next Saturday, 2/7 - the 3rd biggest parade in the U.S. and by far the most fun - thousands of pirates & other costumed locals tossing beads & other treasure along the world's longest continuous sidewalk on beautiful Bayshore Blvd. In Tampa, everybody's a pirate for at least one day a year, and we've been doing it for 105 years here. We were pirates before pirates were cool!

We wanted to tell you that we were really inspired by your adventure and in the few minutes with you Deacon and I found ourselves talking about what he an I will do that would be a similar but slower version of seeing a game in all the the NFL cities. Deacon is the kid that was selling beads prior to the game when we saw you in the parking lot and then again as you were walking to the gate on your way into the stadium. Deacon and I saw you on the Jumbotron throwing beads from the ship!!!! That had to be the best "seat" in any of the stadiums! If you do make it back to Tampa for the Superbowl...email me and we can get together for lunch or something and we can talk to you about the trip. I also hope that you make it to the Capital One Bowl next week. He and will be there so he can sell his beads and then we will see about "scalping" a ticket for the game. Best of luck to you and thanks for the wonderful jumpstart to a special "trip" of our own.

I hear good things from that Stadium and I will have to go up on the ship. The Raiders might give the bucs a good game, you never know!

Great way to finish off the season, with the best stadium of them all! No Chicago freezes here. Be sure to stop by the ship and say hi.

This should be a great game if you are a Bucs fan and a painful one if you like the Raiders. I expect alot of turnovers from Mcfadden and Russell.
