Pre-game
The NFL returns to London for it's second straight year. Last year's battle between the Giants and the Dolphins was an amazing experience. The game itself was not the best, but going to see a real NFL game that meant something in London was mind blowing! Read about the game in my blog: http://www.adamsfootballtrip.com/blogs/60/1st-nfl-regular-season-game-outside-n.america!.htm
I am sure this year will be no different. The Chargers and Saints are high scoring teams with big stars so I'm sure they will excite the crowd even if it does pour down again.
Because of the London game, I can only see one game this week. It will give me a chance to go home for a few days and recharge my batteries, see family, friends, and of course Steph, my beautiful girlfriend. I would have been on the road for 8 weeks, so being able to relax for a day or two will be perfect. Homecooked dinner will be nice too!
This will be the 14th game of my trip thus far and as always on this trip I will be rooting for the home team, which in this case is the New Orleans Saints, as they have given up one of their home games to play here.
in 1990 I came to Wembley for my first ever NFL game, which was between the Saints and the Raiders for a pre-season game. That day made me realize what a fun sport football is:

When I get back home to my parents (Well I sold my apartment to pay for this trip!) I'll go into the dusty loft and dig out my old Saints T shirt that I wore on that game when I was 10!
My Dad took me to that game was I was 10, and I was able to return the favor last year when I took him to the Giants/Dolphins game, I'll take my Dad and hopefully some friends to this game.
It will be great to see lots of NFL fans and jerseys from all over the world at this game, like last year. I'm seeing the Saints 3 times this season; This game which is a home game (but away), a home game against the Packers and then then play away at the Bears. so i will really be able to get a great understanding of the passionate Saints fans out there. This game will be interesting when compared with the Saints at home and away at the Bears.
I really hope all my U.K friends who follow the NFL can make it to this game. I know last year a lot of my friends I play flag football with London got to the game, and it would be great to see all you guys at this one!
With all my game blogs/reports I have an aerial shot of the stadium from Microsoft #virtual Earth, but I guess they have not taken a recent snap of the new Wembley Stadium. For those coming over and have never seen the stadium, trust me the stadium is amazing, you'll be impresssed!
